80% Indians Have A Favourable View Of PM Modi: Pew Research Survey

Roughly 80 percent of Indians hold a positive opinion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and nearly seven out of ten Indians believe that their country has gained more influence recently. These findings come from a survey conducted by the PEW Research Center. The survey, which included 30,861 adults from 24 countries, with 2,611 respondents from India, aimed to explore global perceptions of Prime Minister Modi, India’s global standing, and Indians’ views on other nations.

Globally, India received favorable opinions from more people (46 percent) than unfavorable ones (34 percent). Approximately 16 percent of respondents had no strong opinion either way. Israel had the most favorable view of India, with 71 percent of respondents expressing a positive opinion.

The survey was conducted from February 20 to May 22. It revealed that 8 out of 10 Indians have a favorable view of PM Modi, with over half of them holding a very favorable view. Prime Minister Modi is currently in his second term and is seeking a third term in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Only 1 in 5 Indians had an unfavorable opinion of PM Modi in 2023, according to the Pew survey.

In response to the survey results, the BJP stated that Prime Minister Modi’s popularity remains strong. They posted on a platform formerly known as Twitter that the majority of people in India and around the world believe that India’s global influence is growing.
